Maternity testing is often used to confirm the biological relationship between a prospective mother and child who have been separated by adoption. Often, adoption records have been sealed and only a DNA maternity test can provide a definitive answer. Results of a maternity test may also be used for mothers who have conceived through in vitro fertilization and want to ensure the child is really hers.
In a maternity test, a child and alleged mother are tested. We encourage, but do not require the participation of the father; it is not required to provide conclusive results.
The collection process is the same as for a paternity test. We will provide non-invasive buccal swabs that you can use to collect cheek cells.
