A siblingship test determines if two individuals are half siblings or full siblings. Often, this test is used to confirm biological relationships among adoptees and siblings; it is also used to infer paternity in cases where the alleged father is unavailable for testing. This highly complex DNA test requires sophisticated analysis and interpretation of the DNA testing data. Such testing services require an experienced, qualified DNA test laboratory staff.
In siblingship tests, the two possible siblings and all available parents are tested. We strongly encourage the participation of any available, known parents in the test because the DNA loci that siblings inherit from their father and mother may be entirely different. The probability of obtaining conclusive results is improved when the known parents participate in the test. There is no additional fee for testing the parents.
Due to the complex nature of this test, we require fourteen (14) working days after we receive all of the samples in the laboratory to complete the test.
